Indira Varma is the latest star to join the cast of the upcoming season Doctor who. The British actor, who is no stranger to sci-fi and fantasy, will play the enigmatic Duchess, one of a number of major guest stars to appear in mysterious roles alongside the Fifteenth Doctor.
The BBC reports that Varma, who previously played Suzie in the first season Doctor who turn Torch wood in 2006, will make his second trip to Whoniverse. He will star together Ncuti Gatwawho will debut as the Fifteenth Doctor in the new season Whowho will debut after the special trio stars David TennantDoctor later this year. Says Varma, “I’m delighted to be in Doctor who and very happy to be crossing cosmic pathways with Ncuti, as the Doctor, and hoping to create interplanetary havoc with him. I love playing Suzie Costello Russell T. Davies in the Torch wood so I’m happy to be able to enter this world again.”
